DAY II - Thursday, 5/27/04 When i left for work at 5:00 a.m. power had not been restored and we were told it would be late Friday night or sometime Saturday. We didn't really care because we would be at the campground for the next several days. T spent part of the day at home cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer, then she headed to the campground. At 6:00 p.m. i arrived at the campground - i could not wait! It is a wonderful thing when your wife will get everything ready, pull the pop up to the campground, set everything up and have dinner cooked when you get there. I AM lucky! As soon as i arrived, i could not eat until i checked the converter. I tried putting the lone wire into each of the other two wire nuts... nothing. I was extremely disappointed. It is not that big of a deal since we keep battery operated lamps in the camper. Finally, i forgot about that converter and ate. We had grilled chicken breasts, corn on the cob (grilled) and Texas toast - all prepared over the charcoal grill. After we finished eating, T went to start the Blazer. I have no idea where she was going, i just know it would not start. AHHH! She had left the back liftgate open all day long and the interior light ran the battery down. We locked it up and i assumed the battery would "recharge" itself and the Blazer would start in the morning. I built a small fire so daughter dearest could roast her marshmallows and then drew up a diagram of the converter. I planned to call the service departement first thing in the morning and find out where that lone wire went. Couldn't be that difficult, could it? Day 1 - Day 3 - Photos - Trip Index |
