These instructions are to be used as a guide and may need to be modified for your camper. If i can, i am willing to help in anyway possible... just send me an email.
I had most of the required items and that is the reason i do not know the exact cost. The external coax fittings were purchased directly from the company that manufactured my pop up. You should be able to pick these up at your local RV dealer.
First of all, you might be thinking, "Why do i need a splitter and why did he put cable on both sides?" In answer to that question, i wanted to be able to watch TV inside or outside underneath the awning.
Begin by drawing your plan on paper. Then check to be sure there are no wires, gas lines, etc. in the area you plan on drilling. After checking for wiring, gas lines, etc. i made my mark on the outside of the camper and drilled the hole. Drill slowly and easy, just in case there is something on the other side! It is too late now, but go ahead and place the external jack in place and see if that is where you want it. Now, go around to the other side and repeat the process.
Check underneath the camper for wiring, gas lines, frame, etc. After checking for wiring, gas lines, frame, etc. i drilled down (from the inside) through the floor.
Run the cable wire down through the floor on the "power side", under the camper (through the existing holes in frame) and up through the "door side" hole back inside the camper. Make up a short piece of cable wire to go from the splitter and out through the "power side" wall. Attach the cable connectors to all wires, then attach the wires to the splitter and external jacks.
I stopped right here and ran cable wire from the house to test it. I wanted to be sure that everything is worked great before i get to the campground!
Place the external fittings against the side of the camper, drill pilot holes and install screws. Finish it off by caulking around the exteral coax fittings, holes for wiring in the floor and secure wire underneath camper with wire clips.
Pull the main power cord and A/C cord out of the camper. Then arrange the cable wires inside so they will not become tangled with the power cord on the next camping trip. I moved the splitter out of the power cord box as shown in this photo.
I drilled a hole in the right hand corner of the stationary storage lid. We just feed the cable up through the hole and into the TV which sits on the galley. Because it is a short distance, i didn't feel there was any need for inside jacks.
The project is complete when you have made up another piece of wire to hook up to the campground facilities. I just used what was leftover - over 25 ft.
